The world’s first Sikh Business Awards ceremony…

 

The Sikh Directory is delighted to present the world’s first Sikh Business Awards ceremony. This ceremony will be a fantastic opportunity to join and celebrate extraordinary achievements Sikhs have made and share in their success. Also this will be a unique occasion to meet and network with Sikhs in business, scholars, politicians, members of Royalty and respected community members who are ensuring Britain is an even more special place to live and work.

The inspiring and humbling achievements that the Sikh community have to share will create positive exposure for all involved. In turn this will help with promoting Sikhism on a global scale.

Sir Mota Singh QC

In 1967 Mota Singh joined the bar and within months developed a successful practice in civil law. Then in 1982 he became the country’s first Sikh and Asian judge. Since coming to the UK from Kenya in 1954, he has been a prominent member of Britain’s Asian community and sits on several trusts and boards. Mota Singh was recently knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2010.

Mrs Harminder Kaur Chahal ACCA

Harminder became a member of ACCA in 2002, she has worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP as an auditor. Her client portfolio included Jaguar, Land Rover, AGA and Robert Half International. Harminder is now the managing director of XL Associates, a trusted accountancy firm based in the West Midlands. She is associated with a number of local community organisations and contributes in many ways to their successes

Mr Peter Singh Virdee

Peter has been in the property business for over 15 years. He started his career running the family business developing residential care homes and he is currently a director of B & S Homes, established in 2007. Peter is an active supporter of many charities and trusts, he is a full patron of the NSPCC charity and has hosted and sponsored a number of events raising money for the charity.

Dr. Surinder Kaur Hundal (Bsc MBA PhD)

With over 25 years experience Surinder is a senior business executive, and has held global business positions with Nokia, BT Plc and ICO Global Communications. Surinder currently holds an executive management position at the International Business Leaders Forum, which was set up by HRH The Prince of Wales. She also sits on various trusts and boards promoting interfaith, intercultural tolerances and multicultural good citizenship.

Mr Ranjit Singh Baxi (Bsc MBA FRSA)

Ranjit Singh is the managing director of J & H International, his business received the Queen’s Award for international trade in 2001. He is also vice president of the Bureau of International Recycling. Ranjit Singh received the Asian Achievers award in 2002 and the Asian of the year in 2008, he sits on a number boards and trusts and is well known and respected for his contribution to the Asian Community in the UK.
